In October 2009 Kaimu Productions was sent by Shanghai Television to film the Canadian part of their worldwide series on the Chinese diaspora - 'China's World'. It involved a whirlwind trip through Western Canada - Victoria, Vancouver and Fraser Valley. Sites shot were the Chinese immigrant plaques in the Royal BC Museum, Port of Victoria, Chinatown, interviews with early Chinese immigration experts, Charlie Quan, a 102 year old payer of the head tax, scenic shots of the autumnal delights of Fraser Valley, and glimpses of the existing Canadian Pacific Railway trains and tracks.
