Discovery came to China in September 2006 to film three short programs for 'Not Your Average Travel Guide' and for their non-profit arm Global Education Partnership. The 'NYATG' programs centred on Shanghai and on Beijing. Director/producer Brian Knappenberger worked miracles touring both the major tourist sites in both cities and also taking time to visit places of interest off the beaten path. The GEP program focussed on a young girl living within the shadow of the Great Wall. She acted as narrator, introducing her family, school and friends to the camera. Kaimu Productions co-ordinated this production shot in a remote and stunningly beautiful village set within a protected area of the Great Wall.
