The World Series of Mahjong was held at the Wynn Casino in Macao from June 15-17, 2007. With a total prize purse of US $1,000,000 the stakes were high, and competitors came from around the globe, even as far away as the United States and Great Britain, to try their luck.

Kaimu Productions were enlisted to provide the 'colour' for the show. While the main event will make up 13 x 60' episodes, the series also features the background stories of a number of prominent players. Kim Taylor and an assistant covered many miles to uncover these stories, from Qingdao in mainland China to Hong Kong and Taiwan. We met people from all walks of life, from professional gamblers, to TV celebrities, all of whom had one thing in common - their love of mahjong. These profiles were then edited into a number of short sequences, some of which are given below.
